It’s a Girl!
My client wanted a “pink” room for her baby girl, and by using rose and natural tones a soothing vibe is created. The mid-century rocker, flokati rug, cubby wall storage and wooden crib, keep it modern. Hand-printed wallpaper is placed on the wall behind the crib, and a toile storage basket, rose linen lamp shade and hand-crafted mobile accent the room.

Philly Row House & Garden
This small Philadelphia row house was built in the 1700’s. For the living room, high and low options were presented to the clients and a happy mix created a cozy and stylish living room. The outdoor space was inspired by Frida Kahlo’s Blue House. Wood decking to even out the floor, Mexican blue walls, white furnishings and bright accents completed the patio. (A&J Interiors)
Rustic Modern Guest Room
Check back soon for more on the Guest Room Project. Below are the final choices for the room. The walls have been painted Benjamin Moore Muslin, and the wallpaper is waiting to go up. My client decided to go with red oak floors in the guest room, and while it was being installed, opted to do the entire first floor to match! Custom daybed mattress covers are in the works. can’t wait to unveil the finished space!
I worked on this project with my friend and colleague Zuzana. It was for the office of an internet website featuring the latest insider info on travel, lifestyle and entertainment. The objective was to remove a drywall partition, add in a new glass divider, 8 more work stations and generally refresh the space, while keeping with the black and white color scheme.
I’m in the process of redesigning this 50’s modern vacation house in Sarasota, Florida. Built in 1958, it still has many of it’s interesting original features, including tarazzo floors, wood beamed cathedral ceilings, and state of the art (in the 50’s, that is) stainless steel Westinghouse by General Motors appliances. Many of these features will be incorporated into the new design. The dining room light has been replaced by a more contemporary one from Ikea that works really well with the 50’s danish modern dining table. Grass-cloth wallpaper will go on the dining room wall, and the little window will be covered by a piece of artwork.
Florida Modern Update!
I was in Florida last week working on the Sarasota Modern project. The renovation is coming along nicely and I have included some new design ideas for the master bedroom and bath. Check back often for updates and after photos.
